Nessuna profilazione a fini commerciali.

In short: TimeBack's data stays on your phone. The only exceptions go through the challenge server (Supabase, data centre in Ireland, European Union): the friends leaderboard, which you join automatically with your phone's name (name and points, visible only to your friends; you can change it or leave whenever you want), and, only if you play, challenges with friends and Phone-Free Table (the name you choose and the game progress, deleted after 60 days for challenges and, for games, as soon as the players with the app close the game or at the latest after 2 days). No ads, no analytics, no account, no sale of data.

In the device's internal storage, in the area reserved for the app and protected by Android's encryption. Cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled: uninstalling the app deletes the data (use "Export my data" to keep a copy and "Import data" to restore it).
You send the invite yourself, with the app you choose (for example WhatsApp): it contains a link with the challenge code. Only if you create, accept or decline a challenge, to exchange results without accounts TimeBack uses a challenge server (Supabase, data stored in the European Union) that receives: the challenge code and a hashed fingerprint of its key, the challenge day, the names chosen by you and your friend, when the challenge was accepted or declined and each person's usage time for the challenge apps (at the end of the day or, in "Beat the time", as soon as the limit is exceeded), signed by the app, with the time it arrives. The person who receives the invite sees the challenge and accepts or declines it; the challenge starts only when accepted and only usage from that moment counts. To show you in real time when the challenge starts and when you win or lose (screen in the app and notification), while a challenge is running or waiting for an answer the app asks the server for its status about once a minute. The server receives nothing else about your phone use, doesn't know the challenge key and can't alter the results. A challenge's data is deleted when you delete it and in any case after 60 days. If your friend installs the app from the invite link, Google Play passes the challenge code to TimeBack (install referrer) to open it automatically.
You send the "Phone-Free Table" invite yourself, with the app you choose (for example WhatsApp): it contains a link with the party code. Only if you create a party or join with an invite, TimeBack uses a server (Supabase, data stored in the European Union) that receives: the party code and a hashed fingerprint of its key, the name you choose, a random code that identifies your phone in the game and, during the game, when the screen turns on or off. TimeBack sends nothing else: not the apps you use nor what you do on the phone. The other players see your name and how you are doing. Game data is deleted as soon as all players with the app close the game, at the latest 12 hours after it ends and in any case after 2 days. TimeBack doesn't read your contacts or messages. If a friend installs the app from the invite link, Google Play passes the invite code to TimeBack (install referrer) to open it automatically.
When you use TimeBack you automatically join the friends' leaderboard, with your phone's name (e.g. "Mario's Phone" becomes "Mario"; if the phone's name contains no personal name, "Player" with a number is used). You can change it any time with the pencil in the leaderboard. The server stores your name and your points (weekly and total), calculated by the app from cups, badges, games, shares and time won back, and sent when they change (and at least every 6 hours, to stay in the leaderboard). Only your friends can see them: the people who accept your invite ("Invite friends"), the people you duel and the people who play with you. When you send an invite, the server keeps the invite code, the encrypted fingerprint of its key and your phone's random code for 30 days, to link you to whoever accepts it. Friends are linked through the phone's random code, not your phone number or contacts. You can leave the leaderboard at any time: your name, points, friends and invites are deleted (and in any case after 6 months without updates).
People who don't have TimeBack, on Android or iPhone, can play "Phone-Free Table" as guests by scanning the party QR code or tapping the invite link: the web page timeback-gioca.pages.dev opens, without installing anything and without an account (from iPhone the same page also lets them accept or decline a Duel). The page does not measure phone usage: at the table it only tells the server the name chosen by the guest, that the guest plays without the app and whether the page is open or hidden (screen on or off). Guests don't see the game: progress and result are followed on the phone of the players with the app. Guest data is deleted as soon as all players with the app close the game (at the latest 12 hours after it ends and in any case after 2 days) and can no longer be recovered. The invite code stays in the page address and is not sent to the website; name and game state are stored only in the guest's browser. No cookies, no analytics, no ads.
Screen time only counts apps open on the screen, with the phone on and unlocked: when the screen is off or locked counting stops for all apps (calls in progress also count over the lock screen). Charts, reports and the points of the day and week are calculated on the phone, as are the Daily and Hourly challenges; the leaderboard server only receives your points total. The "Suggested break" and "Suggested block" in the Trend section are also calculated only on the phone, from your apps' time over the last 7 days, and are turned on only if you confirm them.
If you turn on an Absolute block and give your consent, TimeBack stores on the phone which apps to block, after how much use it starts and for how long, together with an internal clock used so that the block doesn't end early if you change the phone's time. This data never leaves the phone, is used only to apply the block you chose and is deleted automatically when the block ends. So that it can't be bypassed, "Delete all my data" doesn't delete an Absolute block that is still running; uninstalling the app or clearing its data from Android settings removes it in any case.
In reports (daily, weekly, monthly and yearly) and invites you can tap Instagram, TikTok or WhatsApp: the report image or the invite link is created on the phone, in the app's temporary storage, and you send it to the chosen app with Android sharing. TimeBack doesn't upload it to any server and receives nothing from these apps; from then on the privacy policy of the app you use to publish applies.
Each completed share is worth +5 points, at most 3 times a day. To recognise a completed share, when you come back to TimeBack the app reads in Android's usage statistics (on the phone, with the permission you already granted) how long the chosen app stayed open, and awards the points only if at least 5 seconds passed. TimeBack doesn't read what you wrote or posted or who you sent it to, and receives no confirmation from the social networks; the count of the day's shares stays on the phone.
The background music (three upbeat tracks by Kevin MacLeod, Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license; credits are in Settings › Music credits) is included in the app: it starts by itself only during the first tour, then it is always off when the app opens and only plays when you turn it on with the music note at the top. To start from a different piece each time, only the number of the last starting piece is remembered on the phone. The control sounds are generated on the phone. The path of materials and the welcome missions are calculated on the phone from your points. None of these features sends any data or contacts any server.
With no one for advertising, profiling or analytics. The only recipients are the challenge server provider (Supabase Inc.), which stores challenge data on behalf of the controller, the friend you challenged, who sees your name and your challenge time, and the people you play with or who are with you in the leaderboard, who see your name, how the game is going and your points. Data is not sold or used for advertising. Server data is stored in a data centre in the European Union (Ireland, a project dedicated to TimeBack); Supabase Inc. is based in the United States and any access from outside the EU is covered by GDPR safeguards (the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, in Supabase's data processing agreement).
Data on the phone is protected by Android's encryption. Communication with the challenge server is encrypted (HTTPS); the server keeps only a fingerprint of the challenge key and results are signed, so they can't be read by anyone without the invite or altered.
The data is used only to show your phone usage, apply the limits and breaks you choose and generate reports, tips and challenges. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by accepting the policy when you first open the app, by granting the permissions and, for challenges with friends, by creating or accepting a challenge; you can withdraw it at any time.
Providing data is optional, but without the "Usage access" permission TimeBack can't measure time or apply limits; without Internet everything works except the leaderboard, challenges with friends and games. TimeBack makes no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you (Art. 22 GDPR): limits, blocks, suggestions and points are tools you choose and control. No profiling for commercial purposes.
A challenge's data on the server is deleted when you delete the challenge in the app and in any case automatically after 60 days; friend invites after 30 days, Phone-Free Table game data (guests included) as soon as all players with the app close the game, at the latest 12 hours after it ends or 2 days after it was created, and other games 7 days after they end. Your leaderboard name and points stay while you use the app and are deleted automatically after 180 days without updates. An automatic clean-up on the server applies these limits every night. Other data stays on the device while you use the app and is deleted with "Delete all my data" (which also deletes your challenges, games and leaderboard entry from the server) or by uninstalling the app.
You have the rights set out in Articles 15-22 GDPR: access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and withdrawal of consent at any time (without affecting processing already carried out). You can exercise them directly in the app (Settings → Your data): access and portability ("Export my data", JSON file), rectification of your name (pencil next to the name), erasure ("Delete all my data") and withdrawal of consent ("Manage permissions"), or by writing to renycortex1@gmail.com. If you no longer have the app you can ask for the server data to be deleted by writing to the same address with the name you used in the leaderboard: we reply within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in Italy: Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
TimeBack is not intended for children under 16.
Any changes to this policy will be published on this page with the new date; if they are significant, the app shows them when you open it and asks for your consent again.
